I worked with a man named “Miller” he’s an independent cuss, unless you are stupid or about to get hurt he does not make much fuss, his talents are many and varied and though some may have tried to define the limits of his capabilities he refuses to stay classified!
One trait that I know I can say for sure is he tries to lead by example, the workers some those of simpler minds and to give you a brief sample…
One summer day a truck showed up amongst the crummy fleet, a brand new six pack ford, it was shiny, bright blue, and neat, Brad told the hook tender of that crew “drop that Rigging in the road, before you hoist it into the woods and smoothly it will go!”
The man consented to his plan and Brad moved on to other tasks, trusting the hook tender of that crew to do what he had asked…
And when he came back up to that site, what did he see heading into the brush? The bright blue tailgate of a bright blue ford from that brand new six pack truck!
I was minding my own affairs down in the company shop, when I heard a voice outside the doors that brought me to a stop.
I looked outside to see Brad miller’s arms outstretched and head unbowed, about as mad as I have ever seen him, screaming “god can I kill them all now!’
We all survived that day I’m sure because God told him “No!”, and he calmed down shortly after that and forward we did go…
So I try to do what Miller tells me, because you never know I guess, someday Brad might scream up to heaven and God might tell him yes!
